Six business phases.
Not steps in the framework — the six areas every consultation explores, as it goes.
The Vcrsoft Way has five steps: that is the framework, and it says what an engagement must accomplish. These six phases are something else: discovery lenses that serve the steps, not stages inside them. Early in a consultation the lens is on the baseline; late, it is on validation. The steps say what the engagement must accomplish; the phases say where its attention leans along the way.
Each phase below goes into detail: what the area covers, why it matters, and how it relates to the five steps.
Business baseline
What you sell, who buys it, and how the work actually gets done day to day.
Goals and constraints
Where you want the business to go, and what limits you — time, money, people, capacity.
Growth engine
How customers find you, decide to buy, and come back — and where that engine leaks.
Economics and operations
What you earn per customer, what delivery costs, and where staff time quietly drains away.
Diagnosis depth
Testing the leading explanations against alternatives and evidence, so the plan rests on facts.
Validation and priorities
Ranking the opportunities with you, and agreeing what to do first and what proves it worked.
